Toivoa sopii ettei Kevin Phillips kumisaappaittensa kera saa nyt maaliputkea päälle, kun onnistui viimeistelemään pari osumaa edellisessä pelissään. Venablesilla on pitkästä aikaa runsauden pulaa kun valitsee pelaajia pelaavaan kokoonpanoon. Mielenkiintoista nähdä ripotellaanko hyökkääjiä tähän otteluun keskikentälle (Smiffy ja Kewell), jolloin esim. hyvin viime peleissä esiintynyt Wilcox tippuisi vaihtopenkille.

Luulenpa että vierasotteluissa kulkee edelleen ja kotiintuomisina on voitto:

Sunderland - Leeds 0 - 2

Selailin tuossa ensin vähän uutisia ennen tätä arvausta, ja jossakin oli tällainen otsikko "VENABLES PUTS FAITH IN MIDFIELD GENERALS" ja tarina jatkui: "UNITED will welcome back Eirik Bakke on Boxing Day and that's a major relief for Terry Venables who sees the Norwegian as one of his most improved players in recent weeks"

Eli nyt kun Bakke taas pyörii jaloissa, niin voittoa en uskalla veikata edes Sunderlandia vastaan:
Sunderland 2-2 Leeds (R. Fowler, H. Kewell)

Woodgate ulkona puujalan takia, Bakke palaa kehiin pelikiellon jälkeen ja Viduka korvaa Fowlerin. Puolustus arveluttaa, mutta Viduka on nälkäinen, joten
