David Batty - LUFC-ura katkolla?

Näyttäisi siltä, että Battsin rupeama meillä olisi vetelemässä viimeisiään.
Ainakin Yorkshire Evening Post uutisoi asiaa tänään melko selvin
sanakääntein, kun Batty jätettiin reservijengistäkin ulos:

Kyllähän se on ollutkin outoa ettei Battyä ole näkynyt joukkueessa, joka suorastaan
huutaa ankkuria keskikentälleen. Bakkesta ei voi puhua samana päivänäkään Battsin
kanssa. Ei kai se kauko-idän turneelta jäänti ainakaan auttanut asiassa, kuten myös
Martyn on saanut huomata.

Sääli tosiaan jos homma menee puihin näin tylysti. Kyllä miehellä olisi 33-vuotiaanakin
käyttöä. Nähtävästi ilmainen siirto edessä - jos vaan ottajia (palkanmaksajia!) löytyy?
Fanit joka tapauksessa nostavat älämölön, oman kylän poika kuitenkin.

No voihan, itse olisin kyllä nostanut Battyn ykkösjoukkueeseen tuomaan vähän ryhtiä Blacburn velttoilun jälkeen. Sad

Toivottavasti tämä ei johda siihen, että ET roudaa tänne tammikuussa taas jonkun "vahvistuksen" (mahdollisten vaihtoehtojen nimiä en edes uskalla kuvitella).

Toivotaan että Batts pääsisi esim. johonkin Wolvesin tai Norwichin kaltaiseen kovaan divarijengiin ja saisi kunnolla peliaikaa..

Yksi mahdollisuushan vielä on, eli aivan hirveä loukkaantumissuma ennen joulua ja ET:n pakko peluuttaa Battyä. Ja Batts näyttää miten pelataan! Grin

Toivottavasti tähän(loukkaantumiset) ei jouduta ja ET tulee järkiinsä.

Vai voisiko kyseessä olla jokin loukkaantuminen....

SkySports antaa vähän toivoa...
Kyseessä olisi nikkavaiva ja Batts ei ole pelikunnossa.

Tuo virallisilla kotisivuilla näkyvä Venablesin kommentti tapaus-Battystä on ainakin siinä suhteessa positiivinen - että ylipäänsä jokin kommentti asiasta nyt annettiin. Vaikenemalla huhut vain lisääntyvät ja epävarmuus Battsin kohtalosta tuo paljon tyytymättömyyttä, etenkin kun hän kunnossa ollessaan on tärkeä lisä keskikentällemme.

Venablesin kommentti: "ei pelannut eilis-iltana koska ei ole kunnossa" kylläkin ihmetyttää sillä Batts pelasi aiemmassa reserviottelussa. Jos hänellä jokin kolhu on, niin toivoisi siitäkin - ja pelaajien tilasta yleensäkin - laajemmin virallisilla kotisivuilla tiedotettavan.

Ja Batty ei muuten lähde minnekään ! Leedsin suosikkipoikaa ei pistetä toista kertaa seurasta ulos. Angry

Nyt kirjoitellaan, että Batty palais NUFiin.
Eikä ole mitenkään mahdoton ajatus.
Noin niinkuin NUFin kannalta;
Halvalla (=ilmaiseksi) pelimies vuotavalle keskikentälle.

Mutta miksi hitossa päästettäisiin kun tarvitaan pelimiestä juuri samalle paikalle??? Sad

Voi kun Batty saisi edes mahdollisuuden.

Vai olisko vaarin lasit vanhat ja nimet Bakke ja Batty menneet sekasin? Wink

Henk.koht. en kyllä usko että Batts lähtee minnekään. Miehen omistautuminen perheelleensä on tunnettu tosiasia ja kirjassaankin hän kertoo miten optimaalinen tilanne hänellä on Leedsissä - kun harjoituskenttäkin on vain muutaman minuutin ajomatkan päässä kotoa. Onko pelaamattomuus sitten niin painava tekijä että hän sen vuoksi olisi valmis vielä maisemaa vaihtamaan...? Jotenkin uskoisin kuitenkin että hän taistelee pelipaikkansa takaisin - varsinkin jos Dacourt tosiaan on lähdössä.

Tällä hetkellä ainakin vaikuttaa aivan siltä kuin Dacourt olisi lähdössä tammikuussa. Dacourtin mahdollisen lähdön syitä voi vain arvailla: joko johtokunta on jo päättänyt että Dacourtista saatavalla muhkealla siirtosummalla tilkitään seuran taloutta, tai sitten Venables on yksinkertaisesti idiootti asettaessaan Bakken Dacourtin edelle.

Leeds on ainoa seura jossa Batty haluaa pelata ja hän aikoo tosiaankin tapella paikastaan joukkueessa. Hyvä ! Nyt kun joku takoisi vielä järkeä Venablesin päähän...

Lähinnä koomisia uutispläjäyksiä - mm. Barcelonan 8M Harte-tarjous taannoin - tarjoileva tribal football tietää kertoa Battsin hyllyttämisestä seuraavaa:

"It's been revealed that David Batty's motorbike has come between him and his Leeds United boss Terry Venables.
Batty has been frozen out of Venables' first team this season, with a section of Elland Road's support targeting the manager for his decision. However, the Evening Standard says earlier this season Batty was told by Venables not to ride his motorbike to training - or he would be dropped. The next day he rode in astride his machine and hasn't played since. Batty also says former boss David O'Leary gave him permission to ride the bike."

FOOTBALL: BATTY: LEEDS WANT ME OUT
DAVID BATTY has accused Leeds of give him the cold shoulder in a bid to
force him to leave the club.

Batty, who has not had a sniff of the first team since Terry Venables'
arrival three months ago, has kept quiet during Leeds' poor start to the
season, despite angry fans chanting his name at matches.

But he finally broke his silence to reveal the heartbreak of being sidelined
by a club he loves and his determination to see out his contract and stay at
Leeds.

Batty, who is being paid £25,000 a week for doing nothing apart from
training, said: "Almost as soon as the gaffer got here he pulled me in and
told me I could leave. People don't know that.

"He wanted me to go out on loan or leave but I've got another 18 months left
of my contract and I have every intention of staying and seeing it out.

"When he first came he even asked if I was interested in the coaching side.
But I've never had an interest in that.

"I love playing at Elland Road in front of our fans. I don't want to go to
another

club and play in front of a lesser crowd."

But the West Yorkshire club are desperate to cut their debts and a huge wage
bill and want to offload Batty when the transfer window reopens in January.
Newcastle, who sold Batty back to Leeds four years ago, and Aston Villa have
already made enquiries.

Last week Venables simply claimed the 33-year-old, capped 42 times by
England, was well down the pecking order.

The Leeds boss said: "I'm the manager and I pick the squad I want to pick.
At the moment he's not in the squad. In the centre of midfield we've got a
lot of players. He's here, he trains every day, but he's not played in first
team. That's it. It's nothing more than that."

But former England star Batty said: "The gaffer has obviously told the board
which players he wants and which he doesn't - and I'm one of those he
doesn't."

Reply #14 - 12.02.2003 at 13:11:40 Kylläpäs tuntuu hyvältä nähdä Battsin nimi taas pelaavassa kokoonpanossa - olkoonkin että kyse on reserveistä ja heidän tämäniltaisesta ottelustaan Sheffield Wednesdayta vastaan. Toivottavasti paikat kestävät ja mies osoittaa Venablesille olevansa yhä edustusjoukkuepaikan arvoinen.
