LUFCin virallisilla kotisivuilla on meneillään "Vuoden pelaaja" -äänestys, joten mikseipä sitten Suomen osastollakin samanmoista äänestystä järjestettäisi - vaikka kautta onkin vielä jonkinverran jäljellä. Äänestysaikaahan voi toki olla vaikka kauden loppuun saakka.

Vain kymmenen pelaajaa mahtui tuolle listalle, mutta ehkäpä todennäköisimmät suosikit siltä löytyvät. Poiskaupatut pelaajat jätin listalta pois, joten jos oma suosikki kaudelle 02/03 löytyy heidän joukostaan - voi heidät erikseen nimeltä mainita.

Niin - perusteluja vielä omasta valinnastani: oma valintani vuoden pelaajaksi on Paul Robinson, joka on yhtenä harvoista pelaajista säilyttänyt (hyvän) tasonsa läpi kauden ja pitänyt useammassakin ottelussa Leedsiä pystyssä. Käsittämätöntä, että maajoukkueeseen valitaan pelaamaan David James (!!!) ennen Robboa.

Mark Viduka kamppaili lähinnä Robbon kanssa äänestäni, mutta Viduuksinkin kausi on ollut hieman heilahdustentäyteinen. Jos olisi ollut koko kauden tämänhetkisessä kunnossa - olisimme todennäköisesti jo kuivilla.

No, tuskin kukaan kaksimielisyydestämmekään  ilahtuisi ...

Raimo: itselläni ei moista ainakaan näkynyt. Ainoastaan varsinainen "äänestysnappula", sekä "View poll results"-linkki.

Dear  Mr Robinson,

     Greetings from Finland which is located in Scandinavia. You might be surprised to know that Leeds United has lots of die-hard supporters here near the Arctic circle. English football in general has been monitored here in Finland very closely for several decades now and football fans have gathered around TV to watch their favourite team play on Saturday afternoons – just like in England.

The Leeds United Supporters club of Finland isn’t actually an official branch – at least not yet, but we are very active bunch of people sharing thoughts and opinions on our web-site (www.lufc-finland.com). We have a whole variety of Leeds-fans participating. Some have supported Leeds United since the Revie-era, some came along during the dark times of the 80’s and the younger fans joined the ”good cause” during the 90’s and the recent years.

In this month we organized a poll where we asked our fellow Finnish LUFC-supporters to name their ”Player of the Year” for season 2002/2003. I am not sure if the result of the poll will surprise you, but for us – the voters – the result came as no surprise.

I am honored to declare You Mr. Robinson as the ”Leeds United Player of the Year 2002/2003” – as chosen by Leeds United Supporters club of Finland. You collected an impressive 70 percent of the votes.

During this difficult season - which at the moment is looking like improving a bit – the majority of the voters think that You Mr. Robinson have kept your high level of performance and have kept us away from the relegation zone. Often - the only bright spot of otherwise depressing match has been Your brilliant performance.

We are more than happy to see that You have made it to the England team, allthough we feel – naturally – that You should be an automatic choice for the first eleven. Hopefully Mr. Erikson will soon ”see the light” and we will see You wearing that Number one shirt for England.

Lämpenee, lämpenee

Tuota kyselin jo joskus aiemmin, koska itse en osaa logoa tehdä..

Mainio idea Bow - voin "sieluni silmin" nähdä miltä tuollainen logo näyttäisi  . Tarvitaan vain se taiteilija luonnoksia tekemään. Itsekin mieluusti Paint Shopilla jotain värkkäisin, mutta aika ei tahdo riittää.

Tässä muuten malliksi islantilaisten "kanssahöyrähtäneitten" web-sivulta löytyvä logo. Arvelinkin että viikinki-aihe on jollain skandinaaviosastolla käytössä.
